Felice Bianchi Anderloni a vehicle designer from the Italian once said “the weight is the enemy, the air is the resistance”. The words that came from Felice Bianchi means that to make a fast car should have a light weight and are not sensitive to the wind or in other words is not hampered by the wind. And Felice Bianchi Anderloni is one of the designers who have successfully implemented the concept in car design Alfa Romeo 1900 C52 Disco Volante produced in 1952.
Commemorating the sixty years of the impressive concept Alfa Romeo 1900 Disco Volante C52, Touring Superleggera unveiled Disco Volante at the event 2012 Geneva Motor Show. The power from the engine which configured V8 cylinder transmitted to the rear wheels through a six-speed semi automatic transmission.
Although it is in modern times in which everything can be done with the engine, body parts 2012 Disco Volante still made the traditional way by forming an aluminum body of Disco Volante by hand. I did have to google the original Disco Volante, I’d never actually heard of it. The original looks impressive though, despite its habit of generating lift at both ends.
(When they called it “Disco Volante”, I think they may have meant it literally.
)
This new one is beautiful too. I’d love it if Top Gear got their hands on one. I’d love to see the Stig blitzing round the track in this. It’ll be the closest I ever come to driving one. That said, even if I did have the money to buy one, I wouldn’t. For someone who’s never so much as broken the speed limit, driving anything like this would be terrifying. If I ever did drive an Alfa (And I’d have to be careful there, as they say that it’s hard to go back to any other car), it would probably be a MiTo or a Giulietta.
